Your favorite photographer is an enneagram…….TWO!!!!!!

You probably could have guessed this if you’ve been following along for a while, right?! HOLY MOLY! I am obsessed with the enneagram – including all the fun instagram accounts – and I thought I would share alllllll about who I am and how the enneagram represents me!

First, if you have no idea what the enneagram is, it’s essentially one of many personality tests. I have been obsessed over taking personality tests since I was a freshman in college. I was a marketing major and this was one of the first things we did in college. The first one I ever took was the five minute personality test where you find out if you’re a lion, otter, beaver, or golden retriever. I was an otter and after that, I was obsessed with figuring out things about my personality. I’ve probably taken at least 20 in the last 5 years, some more than once.

The enneagram was introduced to me by a friend at church and I immediately went to take it because I was so excited to figure out which NUMBER I was. And boom, I am a 2. Ever since, I have loved reading all about my personality and being a “wing 3” which, if you don’t know anything about the test, is just another type that you lean toward in addition to your own type. It has a LOT of crazy details. But let’s talk about my personality!!!!

2 Facts

They say 2’s are obsessed with their own type and wouldn’t want to be anything else and I would have to agree. Here are some facts about my type! A 2 is considered “The Helper.” A two is caring, considerate, generous, people-pleasing, and possessive (whoa). The basic desire of a two is to be loved and their basic fear is being unworthy of love. The Enneagram 2 with a “1-wing” is a “servant” (not me), and the Enneagram 2 with the “3-wing” is a “host/hostess” (me). At a healthy level, the 2 is unselfish, compassionate, encouraging, and truly loving. An unhealthy 2 can be manipulative, self-serving, domineering, and feel victimized. And of course, in-between, they can be people-pleasing, over-intrusive, and feel the need to feel important.

SOOOOO, holy moly. That was a lot to take in when I took the test! This may or may not make sense to you, but when you find out what type you are, it literally feels like someone has been watching your WHOLE LIFE!!! It’s crazy. SO, how does this apply to me being your photographer and friend?! Here are some perks of me being a 2! I am your biggest cheerleader. I will randomly text you seeing how things are going. I love to buy you coffee or dinner – I’ll ask for your order before we even meet. I will like all your pictures on instagram and say “DANG GIRLLLL” or something similar on most of them. I will text you the exact words you need to hear (I have the spiritual gift of encouragement too, so I can’t help it). I will send gifts, big or small. I will pray for you. I will put you and EVERYONE else before myself (which can be a bad habit sometimes). And I will love and care for you so dang hard you won’t even know what to do!

I truly love the personality that the Lord gave me and I just wanted to share a little bit about it with you guys. Being a 2 has it’s ups and downs for sure.
